Lexicon is a biopharmaceutical company focused on the discovery and development of breakthrough treatments for human disease. We use our proprietary gene knockout technology to knock out, or disrupt, the function of genes in mice and then employ an integrated platform of advanced medical technologies to systematically discover the physiological and behavioral functions and pharmaceutical utility of the genes we have knocked out and the potential drug targets encoded by the corresponding human genes. For targets that we believe have high pharmaceutical value, we engage in programs for the discovery and development of potential small molecule, antibody and protein drugs. We are working both independently and through strategic collaborations and alliances to capitalize on our technology and drug target discoveries and to develop and commercialize drug candidates emerging from our drug discovery and development programs. Our common stock is traded on the Nasdaq Global Market under the symbol "LXRX".
