Atherosclerosis, Thrombosis, Hypertension
More than 71 million people in the United States have some form of cardiovascular disease. According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute, diseases caused by atherosclerosis are the leading cause of illness and death in the United States. The American Heart Association estimates that nearly one in three United States adults has high blood pressure, but because there are no symptoms, nearly one-third of these people don't know they have it.
